About the Secondary Education Program

The Secondary Education program at Ansu Sonii University trains prospective teachers to work with students in junior and senior high schools. This level of education is where students begin to deepen subject-specific knowledge and prepare for tertiary studies or vocational paths. Our program is designed to produce knowledgeable, innovative, and values-driven secondary school educators.

Students in this program choose subject areas for specialization — such as English, Mathematics, Biology, History, or Business Studies — and receive in-depth training in both content and pedagogy. Courses emphasize curriculum design, instructional methods, adolescent psychology, and classroom assessment. We aim to develop educators who are not only masters of their subjects but also mentors who inspire and guide teenagers through a crucial stage of life.

Fieldwork and supervised teaching practices are integral to the learning experience. Students participate in school placements where they take on real teaching responsibilities, receive feedback, and reflect on their professional growth.
